Points Calculations
Points are awarded to all competing fencers in inverse order to place finish. That is, if there are 32 fencers, the first place finisher will receive 32 points, second place will receive 31 points, etc. on down to the last place finisher who receives 1 point.School Points are assigned to the schools of the top fencers in each event. Four school points for first place, three for second, and two school points are given to each third place finisher for events with less than 16 participants. Eight school points are given for 1st place, seven for second, six for each third place finisher, four points for fifth place, three for sixth, two for seventh and one for eighth in events with 16 or more participants.
